Privacy
These checks are free and they need nothing from you except a domain name.
There is no account and no sign-up.
I don't ask for your name, your email address or your telephone number, and there's nowhere to enter them.
Nothing is stored in your browser.
These pages put nothing on your computer and read nothing off it, so there's nothing for you to agree to.
What is kept, and for how long.
I keep nothing myself. There's no database behind these pages and no file anywhere with the name you typed in it. The company that hosts them keeps an ordinary record of requests, the same as any web host does, and that record includes the address your computer connected from and the web address you asked for, which has the domain name in it. Those records are deleted after 7 days.
How one machine is stopped from running thousands of checks.
Your address is turned into a short fingerprint that can't be turned back into an address, and that fingerprint is counted for a minute at a time. The address itself is never stored and the fingerprint is no use for anything else.
How the visits are counted.
Cloudflare Web Analytics counts the pages people look at here. It sets no cookie, stores nothing on your computer and cannot follow you to another website. What it reports is the page, roughly which country the request came from and what kind of browser asked, and none of that identifies you. I use it to know whether these checks are worth keeping. If you'd rather not be counted, any content blocker stops it, and every check works just the same without it.
The results are not saved.
There's no history, nothing to look back at, and no way for me to tell you later what somebody checked.
What the check itself does.
To answer, I ask the public domain registry and the public domain name system about the name you typed. That's the same information anybody can look up, and asking doesn't tell the domain's owner that you did.
If you want to ask about any of this.

This page is a plain statement rather than a formal notice.
Dalaric's full privacy notice is being written and will be linked here when it's ready. Everything above is true of these pages today and you can hold me to it in the meantime.
